1. Introduction

ManWallet ("the App") is a personal utility app that helps you manage vehicles, home-related documents, loyalty cards, and monthly expenses. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information.

We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. All data you enter stays on your device unless you explicitly export or share it yourself.


2. Data storage and ownership

In addition, the App uses Apple's iCloud Key‑Value Store (NSUbiquitousKeyValueStore) to store a small amount of non‑content configuration data linked to your Apple ID:

Authoritative Premium status does not come from us: it is determined by Apple's In‑App Purchase system (StoreKit entitlements on your device for your Apple ID). The App checks those entitlements when you launch, restore purchases, or return to the app, and may cache a flag on device for convenience. If you reinstall the app, entitlement checks still apply; we do not receive your payment details.

We do not see your Apple ID or any personal details; iCloud and App Store services are handled by Apple. No raw vehicle, property, card, photo, expense, or income data is stored in iCloud by the App.


3. Device features and permissions

The App may ask for the following permissions. Each is used only for the purpose described and only when you use the related feature:

Permission Purpose
Camera To scan barcodes/QR codes for loyalty cards, to take photos of documents (e.g. receipts, expiry documents), and to capture images for on-device text recognition (e.g. VIN, receipt amounts).
Photo Library To attach existing photos to documents (e.g. invoices, scans) and to select images for on-device text recognition (e.g. VIN, expense amounts).
Calendar To add expiration reminders to your device calendar, only if you choose this option.
Notifications To send you local reminders (e.g. before a document expires or when a service is due). These are scheduled and delivered only on your device.

Text recognition (OCR): The App can recognize text from photos you take or choose (e.g. to fill in a VIN or an expense amount). This is done only on your device using the system's text recognition. No image or recognized text is sent to our servers or third parties.

Insights and analysis: The App analyzes your expense and vehicle data to provide personalized insights (e.g. spending trends, fuel consumption changes). This analysis is performed entirely on your device. No data is sent to external servers or AI services.

You can revoke any permission in your device Settings. The App will continue to work for features that do not require that permission.


4. Local notifications

Reminder notifications (e.g. "Document X expires in 7 days" or "Service due soon") are created and scheduled only on your device. They use the notification settings you configure in the App (how many days before, time window). No reminder data is sent to any server.

You can turn off reminders at any time in the App's Settings.


5. Export and import of data

The App offers several export/import options, all performed entirely on your device. We do not receive, store, or process any exported or imported files.

JSON backup (all data):
- Export (JSON): Available during the free trial and after unlocking Premium. Exports all data (vehicles, properties, cards, expenses) as a JSON file you can share via email, cloud storage, or any other app of your choice.
- Import (JSON): Available after unlocking Premium only (not during trial). Replaces all existing data in the App with the contents of a previously exported JSON file.

CSV expenses:
- Export expenses (CSV): Available during the free trial and after unlocking Premium. Exports all expense entries as a CSV file compatible with spreadsheet apps (e.g. Excel, Numbers). Includes only expenses — not vehicles, properties, or cards.
- Import expenses (CSV): Available after unlocking Premium only. Imports expense entries from a ManWallet-format CSV file. Adds imported entries to existing data without deleting anything.
- Import from other app (CSV): Available after unlocking Premium only. Imports expense entries from a CSV file exported by a third-party finance app. The App displays a column-mapping wizard; no data is sent externally. Includes only expense entries.

Local auto-backup (optional, safety net):
- If you enable Auto-backup in Settings, the App will keep a small rolling set of up to 3 local JSON backups inside its own Application Support folder on your device (protected with iOS file protection).
- A new auto-backup is written at most once every 7 days. Older files are removed automatically.
- Auto-backup files are never transmitted by the App — they do not leave your device, are not uploaded to any server, and are not shared unless you explicitly do so yourself via iOS (for example through Files, AirDrop, or the system share sheet).
- Auto-backup keeps running in the view-only mode after the trial ends (see below) as a safety net for data you entered during the trial. Importing (restoring) a backup is still gated behind the one-time Premium purchase.

When the free trial ends and Premium is not purchased, the App switches to a view‑only mode:


6. In‑App Purchases and trial

The App uses Apple's In‑App Purchase (IAP) system to unlock Premium features:

The App offers a time‑limited free trial with full access to adding and editing your data on the device. JSON export and CSV export are available during the trial. All import features (JSON and CSV) are unlocked only after the one-time Premium purchase. After the trial:

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data in the App, please contact us and we will help you remove it (the data is only on the device).


9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
