This policy explains what data the OrtodoxRO app processes, for what purpose, and what control you have over it.

2. General Principles

• OrtodoxRO does not use cross-app or cross-website tracking.
• OrtodoxRO does not use any tracking domains.
• Data is used primarily for app functionality.

3. Data Processed

3.1 Data you enter in the app

The app may store locally on your device:

• usage preferences (language, notification options, calendar filters, export settings);
• friends list (name, aliases, phone number, greeting preferences);
• local state required for operation (e.g., widget settings and Premium status in App Group).

3.2 Contact data (optional)

If you use the auto-fill from Contacts feature, selected data (e.g., name, phone) may be copied to a friend profile within the app for greeting and name day matching functionality.

3.3 Greeting message composition

When you send a greeting, the app opens the native SMS composer or Share Sheet with the phone number and message text, without transmitting this data to external servers. The actual sending is done only through your explicit action.

3.4 iOS Calendar data (optional)

If you enable synchronization, the app creates/updates events in a dedicated OrtodoxRO calendar within the iOS Calendar app.

3.5 Subscription data

For Premium, subscription validation and payment flow are managed through the App Store / StoreKit (Apple).

4. iOS Permissions Used

The app may request the following permissions, depending on the features you activate:

• Calendar: to export/sync liturgical events to iOS Calendar.
• Notifications: for liturgical reminders and name day reminders.
• Contacts: for quick import of name/phone into the Friends section.

You can revoke these permissions at any time from iOS Settings.

5. Legal Basis and Purposes

Data is processed for:

• providing the app's core functionality;
• personalizing the experience (settings, filters, language);
• sending notifications only if you have enabled this feature;
• managing Premium entitlements through Apple's mechanisms.

6. Data Sharing

OrtodoxRO does not sell personal data.

Data may be involved in the following integrations required for operation:

• Apple Calendar (when exporting, through the permission you granted);
• Apple Notifications (for notification delivery);
• App Store / StoreKit (for subscription and entitlement validation).

7. Storage and Retention

• Most usage data is stored locally on your device.
• Data remains stored until you modify/delete it from the app or uninstall the app.
• Events already exported to iOS Calendar may remain there until you explicitly delete them from Calendar (depending on your configuration).

8. Background Refresh

The app may use iOS Background App Refresh to periodically re-synchronize notifications (approximately every 24 hours). This operation is entirely local — no data is transmitted to external servers.

9. Local Diagnostics

OrtodoxRO maintains a small number of local counters (for example, how many greetings have been sent) to improve the user experience. This data is stored in UserDefaults on the device and is not transmitted outside the app.

10. Security

The app uses the security mechanisms provided by the iOS platform and the Apple frameworks it relies on. No method of storage or transmission can guarantee absolute security.

11. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access, rectification, or deletion of personal data.

Practical options within the app:

• you can edit/delete friend data directly from the dedicated section;
• you can disable notifications and revoke permissions from iOS Settings;
• you can disable Calendar synchronization.

12. Children

OrtodoxRO is not specifically designed for intentional collection of personal data from children under the minimum applicable age in your jurisdiction.

13. Policy Changes

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect product, technical, or legal changes. The current version will have the last update date mentioned in the header.
